SANTO DOMINGO-ART CITY 2010

marking highly the dominican indentity thru art this year the city of Santo Domingo was named “the american capital of art for 2010″ language magazine “ojoporojo” organized a street art iniciative called “organic/native”:”art in the city”. 10 artists were invited to participate and present their art pieces from modern art to street art. each artist will exhibit a descriptive issue of what is the Dominican Republic. some of the main streets in the capital were permitted to be used as a “gallery”…check out the video above!

DOMINICAN KIDS AND A CAMERA

had to post this...crack up everytime i see it and it reminds me not to give a dominican kid a camera...yes, we have some talented one but if you're dominican this is in your blood too...and if you're not and you want to marry one of us, i think you should give it some thought first because this might be your boy doing a monologue with the camera that you got him for christmas because it was on sale at best buy...Dominican version of Billy Elliot without his bipolar meds...HEHEHEHEHE! HUSTLING ARTISTIC KIDS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

no IPHONE, no formal training...no virtual dj, no itunes, no file share, Ustream etc etc etc...they just gotta eat tonite...oh and chances are that as poor as they are they probably speak 2 or 3 different languages...did i also mentioned that they have no formal training...thats hustling...they get their skills together...LOL!...what they're playing here is called(type of music) "perico ripiao"...BTW the oldest one here is 13 years old...thats for you!!!
