*MITI MITI* "ENCENDIA"
just got introduce to MITI MITI" and the little bit i've listen i already like...not hard to like when the genius of Rita Indiana is a part of this group that has been around for a few years...here is a bit about them and the music video "encendia" enjoy!
Born in Harlem, the project blends saturated caribbean rythms with tacky-tech culture and punk-merengue phrasing. Raina Mast an Irish catholic pennsylvanian painter/sculptress working as a Spanish teacher in Harlem and Rita Indiana Hernández, a dominican writer/multimedia artist with a pair of clean pants and lots of old school Antillean vinyl met in NYC in 2006 and began shaping what has evolved into a subversive sound of its own, that brings together references otherwise incompatible such as Aramis Camilo, Mahavishnu, Snap! and Stevie Nicks. Miti Miti's debut album "Altar Espandex" is out.
Rita Indiana's CD "EL JUIDERO" is out...make sure you support one of Dominicans best...club fonograma classified it as "a monumental debut...one of the best records in many years" please do yourself a favor and go buy it!!!
thank you to mi sista DJ Bruta for the link!!!
